LET’s see what our girls have to say...

OUR

Safety plan

A safe place

To fall in Love

At Emilybridalwear believe finding your dress should be the most amazing experience.  A life moment, that is about celebrating amazing things happening in your life. Even in these exceptional times that is still at the forefront of what we do.  With a few tweaks and some nifty new machines, it doesn’t feel any different.

We take your safety seriously and have spent hours researching options and developing a plan to ensure that your experience remains exceptional whilst offering the best options for safety.   Before I show you our plan I wanted to let you know how and why we have chosen these procedures.

The plan we are following and equipment/cleaning products we have purchased are based upon proven effectiveness from clinical trials, following guidelines and carrying out a lengthy (and a little tedious) risk assessment.

The Key points

The most important things taken from the government guidelines and from our research  to prevent the spread and to keep everyone safe is…

  • Hand washing
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing of surfaces
  • Ventilation
  • Track and Trace/Testing

I believe our measures and equipment nails all 4. Not just nails them but mic drops the lot off a very high cliff!

We want you to reflect on your time with us with happiness and fondness, not with sadness that things got in the way of it feeling special.

All of the things we have put into place means we know you will still love your time with us.

Now I am a planner, I am a researcher and I like the right tools for the job. The girls have laughed at me with all the things I have bought, raising eyebrows as each box delivered with new equipment. I have had our Safety policy signed off and praised by governing bodies, health and safety professionals and NHS staff.

We are using tried and tested technology and cleaning products to provide a full and robust strategy to allow us to find your dress without you having to worry.

Let me introduce you to our new snazzy machines..

Our Air purifying units.  AP’s for short. These units use tried and tested well known methods to not only sanitise the air but also the surfaces  in all of our rooms.  NHS trusts are using these methods to clean hospitals, to keep reception areas clean, care homes have invested in them, along with Virgin, these incredible machines work in NHS buildings as well.

Small but perfectly formed, these boxes are super bugs, bacteria and virus killers. Using 3 simple but effective methods. Want to know how?

The Science bit

Here’s the science bit (sorry there is some tech speak, but I thought if you had the info, you can google the life out of it to check for yourself, if want to!)…

  • Air is sucked into the machine (a full cycle takes 30 minutes)
  • Each unit has a Dual UVC light (Ultraviolet) which kills microorganisms (bacteria, viruses and mould) by disrupting their DNA and removing their reproductive capabilities.
  • Another process called Photocatalytic Oxidation is carried out. This is when the UV reacts with a Catalyst (Ti02) to form highly reactive but short-lived oxidising Hydroxyl Radicals (OH) which break down Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), these VOCs are what science people call bacteria, viruses, pollen and mould!
  • Interaction of the dual UV wavebands with the TiO2 catalyst both creates and breaks down Oxygen molecules transforming Oxygen into a highly reactive state. These superoxide Ions leave the unit as “Plasma Quatro” (now this sounds like a star trek film doesn’t it, but this is all real, I promise!)
  • The negatively charged Superoxide Ions are then filtered out into the room. They are like little magnets to all airborne VOC’s (remember what these are?)  They cluster them together and make them fall from the air as they become too heavy.  They also land on surfaces and will cluster VOC’s here too.
  • These units remove nasties that are as small as  0.0001 microns.  Current COVID-19 strain is a massive 0.125 microns. We are literally using the strength of a hammer to squash a pea!
  • Targeted Ozone (in such small quantities it is not damaging to us or the environment but strong enough to have a word with some viruses!)  is also distributed into the air. These get the hardest to reach areas breaking down contamination in the air and on exposed surfaces. Ozone damages the cell wall of microorganisms stopping reproduction and destroying the cell. This means our dresses are sanitised every half an hour!

What does that mean for bridal appointments?

Did you understand any of that!? Yes no? They are epic when it comes to how effective we are going to be at keeping everyone in our shop safe! These machines keep our air and surfaces continuously sanitised. So this airborne virus doesn’t and won’t want to be anywhere near our shop with these bad boys!

It also means anyone asymptomatic will have less chance of passing the virus on. Our dresses and surfaces are always clean.

These machines have been tested against SARS and previous and similar Coronavirus strains with significant reductions. This type of technology and these units are used widely in food preparation factories, in hospitals and many other places. In fact, I wish they were used everywhere! But they cost a small fortune, so I can see why they aren’t but the health of my staff and you brides makes them worth every penny!

You don’t need to wear a mask (unless you want to) and up to 3 guests are welcome to join you to help you find your dress and 1 guest for technical styling and alterations.

You had me at clean!

Now onto our cleaning and hand sanitizing products, you thought our AP’s were good just wait until you hear about these.

We have a (really not sexy) fogging machine, that every month sprays the whole shop with our 99.9% effective against previous coronavirus strains (including the closest version, feline). The current COVID-19 appears to act in the same way to previous ones.  Now this fluid sits and acts as a barrier with charged “spikes” that break the cell walls down of the virus. It is non toxic and safe to use.

This company even produces a 24 hour barrier hand sanitiser that also passed the European standards. This product has been placed in our automatic hand sanitiser at the front door.  So you will be protected for 24 hours. It doesn’t wash off, normal washing and alcohol rubs can be used. It is also doesn’t affect your hands in any way, in fact mine have felt less dry!

I feel like we have everything covered with our safety plans and I am so excited to be able to get back to what we do best, our stories, no hang on finding our brides their wedding dress!!
