Preparations and Aftercare Specialist

 

With a growing business, we are now seeking to recruit a new team member to fulfill our new role as Preparations and Aftercare Specialist.

Job Description:

The “Prep Specialist” Will be in charge of our aftercare section of the bride’s journey, providing the same level of service and attention to detail our brides have come to expect from an Emily Bridalwear experience. Being the final and most important part of the process, the successful candidate will ensure the fittings process has run smoothly and the dress is pressed/steamed to perfection.  Liaising with both stylists, seamstresses and brides. This is a chance to be an integral part of the behind-the-scenes side of Emily Bridalwear.

 

Job role:

Sourcing and moving dresses from storage ready for fittings and collections

Liaise with seamstresses to make sure dresses are ready and due back on time

Prepare, steam, and press dresses ready for collections

Operate hand-held steamers and Irons

Locate, prepare, and package accessories ready for collection.

Identify and rectify any imperfections and spot clean where necessary

Spot clean and repair stock dresses when needed

Minor Sewing maintenance on Sample dresses when needed

Minor sewing (such as hook and eyes, bustle ribbons, and applique repairs)

Provide support for seamstresses where necessary during fittings

Keeping up to date and updating wedding files for each bride

Input alteration costs and liaise with the bride

Run collection appointments and fittings wherever necessary

Attend meetings and actively be involved in discussions to seek out new ways to improve and grow as a business.

Person Specification:

Meticulous attention to detail

Positive and problem solution focused

Can work to tight deadlines and work well under pressure.

Great customer-facing manner, with warmth and an ability to provide clear instructions

Physically fit and able to stand and hold a handheld steamer for long periods of time, go up and down stairs, and carry heavy dress bags

Experience in steaming or love of ironing

Sewing experience

Happy to work on your own and within a team to satisfy both sides of the role.

Reliable, can work longer hours during the extremely busy season of June – September with some finishes as late as 10pm

Able to work routinely…. Monday Tuesday and Wednesday

 

Future Career progression prospects

Hours can change and be reflective of the workload. Shorter working hours will be through the winter period.

£11 an hour (subject to experience)

The successful candidate will also benefit (once the probationary period has been completed) to be involved in a commission structure.
